Kartik Steels has responded well to these requirements by installing some of the finest equipment to carry out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on its castings. These include Gamma-Ray Radiography, Ultrasonic Flaw Detector, Magnaflux and Die Penetrant accessories. Cobalt Radiography facility will be made available shortly in-house and presently we have external arrangements to carry out the same.

A dynamic team of dedicated young engineers and technicians is responsible for the operations and by sheer dedication has excelled in meeting the desired quality requisites and in maintaining the right delivery schedules

The Kartik Steels plant is located in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, with a layout of 6.0 acres of land. It has a full-fledged infrastructural set-up, houses a two-tonne electrical arc furnace and an induction furnace of 150 Kg and 250 Kg crucibles. The moulding section has facilities for machine moulding, hand moulding and cake moulding. Heat treatment of the castings is done in a heat treatment furnace with an automatic recorder and controller. With adequate facilities, the castings are then fettled to required finishes. Thus Kartik Steels is in a position to produce castings from 10 Kg upto 2.1 M tonne weight and to serve a multi-faceted spectrum of applications. The Unit is also equipped with Centrifugal Casting Machines to make Balls for Ball Values, Seat Rings and Flanges upto weight of 250 Kgs. The plant houses a modern well-equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art test facilities like the Sand Testing Laboratory and a Vacuum Emission Spectrometer, a Chemical Laboratory, Metallurgical Laboratory with Microscope and a Physical Laboratory with a Universal Testing Machine, Hardness Tester and an Impact tester with low temperature test facility, and also a Stress Rupture testing machine.

The Foundry is adding an induction Furnace of 3000 kgs & 1500 kgs with required material handling facilities. This will facilitate the foundry producing weights of casting up to 3000 kgs.
